The Foundation is celebrating a milestone this year ~ our 10th year of service to this community. Over the past ten years, we have worked hard to put all of the pieces in place to ensure that we will be able to keep grants flowing to worthwhile local projects to benefit all future generations. With the continued generosity of our donors, the endowment fund should continue to grow and further augment our granting capability in years to come. To help celebrate this milestone, we have announced a special Youth Achievement Award to recognize a young person in the western portion of Lanark County, age 19 and younger, who has demonstrated leadership skills in volunteer, environmental or community initiatives that address the immediate needs of our communities. The recipient will be able to name a local charity of their choice to receive a $1000 award from The Perth and District Community Foundation in recognition of the successful candidate’s achievements. The award will be presented at our Christmas Gala on November 25, 2011.
